Collection of documents relating to this family include: 6 completed checks, all Rockville Centre, dated 1891-1892, 4 with nice dog engraved vignette, all "Received of" Paul Engels (or Engles); billhead for Jospeh B. Langdon, Lumber, coal, wood dealer for hemlock boards; 3 detailed billheads from Charles H. Losea "Proprietor of the Old-Established Carriage Factory" to Paul Ingles for carriage repairs and parts- new shoes, repair shafts, spokes, hooping of wheels, set axles, more; bought of G.D. Combes from Emman Engles, General Merchandise-grocer; Bought of M.A. Sault, dealer in dry goods, clothing, hats, caps, &c. for shirts, towels, muslin, etc; (Engals) bought of G.B. Farrington 1894 shoes, washers, prob. carriage repairs; and a group of 12 billheads from Rockville Centre Bakery to Mr Engels, detailing the daily intake of bread and cakes for the household, from 1891-1893, a nearly day-by-day tally (apparently they ate a lot of bread); documents are in various sizes, average 5" x 7" size, some smaller or larger; average wear, old fold lines; very good condition and interesting Rockville Centre Long Island historical ephemera; a great 'snapshot' view of a middle-class family's finances and expenses for food, transportation and more in the late nineteenth century.
