Article on this creature, extracted from the Asiatic Researches of 1806-7 according to an old note; (6) pages, with a nice frontispiece woodcut of the creature, along with an illustration of The Yak of Tartary, called Soora-Goy or Bushey Tailed Bull of Tibet; with observations of the creature's jhabits, physical properties and habitat; the author evidently had one of these animals under observation at his home, and of some affection: "...My little friend, was on the whole, very engaging..."; ; approx. 8 1/4" x 5 1/4", removed from a larger volume, not sewn; old pencil notation from bookseller noting publication date and edition; in very good condition and interesting natural history, Asian science ephemera.
