A complex document, Manuscript obligation for lands in Oyster Bay, which includes several mentions of Indian land and agreements with Native Americans; Dated 26 June 1764; for "... a certain tract or meadow situate lyingand being Within the Township of Oyster Bay and Commonly known by the name of marshpage(?) meadows...under the hands of the Indian proprietors..." & more detail; approx. 13" x 14 1/2" size; with the witness signature of Peter Brass; others torn away as per usual at completion of agreement, with the remains of the old seal just visible; some edge, tips wear. old fold lines to paper, old tape repairs on back; browned in a couple of areas, appears to be loss of one line at bottom; overall, in good condition; and interesting Oyster Bay Long Island community, commercial history & reference and of Native American note, worthy of further research.
