Scrapbook with approximately 95 pages filled with material; stories, poetry, anecdotes, several from Long Island sources, Sag Harbor, Greenport, Southold, Riverhead`; many long pieces with several chapters, going on for pages; "Sleeping Out; or. The Reason Why Mr. Caleb Drinkwater became a Temperance Man" by Col. Clay; many by Mrs. Corolla H. Criswell; Mackey or the Black Spy by Edward Carroll; piece on Yankee Doodle; "For the Long-Island Star" piece "The Blighted Bud- A Sketch"; Celebrating The Fourth of July; or The Orator in Spite of Himself by Agnes Leslie, several pieces on Jenny Lind; much more, every page covered completely with articles; appears to be 1859; all tipped-in to an old ledger-style book, 8 1/4" x 13"; green- blue marbled paper covered boards, leather spine & corners; some edge, tips wear, spine leather chipping to binding; contents in very good condition; and interesting ephemeral material.
