Sag Harbor, New York: Mr. Steinbeck has here autographed in pen, a folding brochure for the town of Sag Harbor, Long Island's Whaling Museum, with an article on "The Sag Harbor Whalers" by Clother Hathaway Vaughn; about 9" x 4" size; light edge, tips wear to pamphlet, tipped-on to a black cardstock matteboard; very good condition, no date but circa mid-1960's; signature with fading, legible enough; obviously given when Steinbeck resided in the town and wrote his novel "The Winter of Our Discontent", a story reputedly based on the area and its characters and places; an interesting association and significant autograph of one of the twentieth century's most respected and prominent writers, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1962.
