Good military, cultural, scenic, travel views; all identified on backs of card mounts on a small strip of paper; written very neatly and precisely in black ink in French and numbered (also by hand) 1 through 12 (lacks number '8'): In Salah -Le Kodja au bereaumarabe; Militaires indigines de la Cie du Zidi-Relt Serendant a la'exercise; Une noce a In Salah (in English beneath, in pencil, the word 'wedding'); Ouverture d'une Joggora servant de Jesuits dans le Ksor (?) de Kerkpatius (?); Porte du Pays; Confection des Briques avec les Quells sont Construites toutes les maisons (adobe bricks); Oxionel chef des Zoitoget et les ouefnobles que l'accompagnaient venant faire acte de soumission; Comments Sunnicraires dans les quels son entreriers les marabouts...; Popote des officiers; Forage d'un puits artesien;Tompe montee sur un puits asrtesien et abrevoir - au frond l'oasis; appear to be the work of a very skilled amateur, no photographic studio identified or numbers, except by hand; fairly good detail; each image about 2 1/8" x 2 5/16" size; light edge, tips wear to mounts, trimmed to 2 3/4" x 5 3/4" in size; very good condition, no date but circa 1890 - 1910; an interesting collection of a way of life that no longer exists.
