Blessing, A very interesting image, clear, good delineation and detail, the juxtaposition of two important nineteenth-century modes of travel, with the old horse-drawn days; the railroad station is in the fore, with at least eight double-funnel steamboats in the middle background, several in steam; horses and carts, carriage waiting at station, wharfage, goods to be shipped waiting at dockside; photographer identifier at side of mount states "S.T. Blessing, 87 Canal Street." and "New Orleans, Louisiana"; within the right-hand image is the photographer's "525. N.O. & Mobile R.R. Station, New Orleans"; no date noted, circa 1870 or so; large format style, approximately 4 3/16" x 7" size including yellow mount card; some edge, tips wear and darkening; image clear, good condition.
